Finished update for CatchBall

December 23rd, 2008

I finished my update for catchball but Haiku is having some kind of Memory or provisioning error. It will take me sometime tomorrow to figure out what is wrong.

Stock-Calc and Other Updates

December 19th, 2008

I wrote Stock-Calc based on some old spread sheet calculations that I used to make. But I have for now decided not to publish it because of it’s limited utility. I may change my mind again and rewrite it. But for now it is dead.

I have a long weekened and should be able to get my updates done to Haiku and CatchBall. Have a nice weekend.

Paul J. Barrett

December 18th, 2008

Please visit the about page. There is more information there about me and a link to my resume. For the last seven years I have been working for Las Vegas Athletic Clubs. I have also done some work for Jim Butters of CGCLLC.com. Mostly I have been administering the Athletic Clubs systems and writing custom programs for them in C#, ASP, SQL, PERL, and VBScript.

Recently they bought me a MAC Pro and IPhone to enable me to learn how to program the IPhone and MAC. The applications for the clubs are mostly solved with web applications for the IPhone. But we are just getting warmed up.

BardInsulter

December 18th, 2008

BardInsulter has been approved! It is just a simple app based on the Shakespearean Insult Kit but adds the functionality of being able to click on the words which takes you to Dictionary.com. Not all words are available though so you may still need to do a little work to find the meaning.

It took Apple a long time to approve this app so I hope it sells a little. It was just something that works similarly to the Haiku application and I put it together over a weekend a couple of weeks ago.

Busy Busy Busy

December 16th, 2008

I have been working on several ideas for the IPhone and also have several things planned. I also have been working on an app that will probably sell for $150 for the full version and $9.99 for the trial version that is full functional but limits one thing about the program.

I have the following upgrades planned for Haiku and CatchBall.

CatchBall:

  1. Scores for two players
  2. Score Reset Button
  3. Timmer
  4. Laugh Track at 30 secs for the No Score Player

Haiku:

  1. Read Flag which will allow you to read all 220 Haikus without ever seeing the same one twice
  2. A reset button to reset the Read Flag

Hopefully I will find time over the holidays to do these things. I have been busy with some family stuff as well.

Happy Holidays to everyone.

Paul

Working with COCOS2d

November 17th, 2008

I have started a space shooter game with COCOS2d but it will be a while before it is ready. I spent most of the weekend working on a business application for the IPhone. Once it is uploaded I will post more information.

I will also have some information on using didyftp as soon as I finish that part of the application.

Haiku has been Accepted

October 29th, 2008

My Haiku app has been accepted today after only 4 days of waiting. Obviously the first one is the hardest to get accepted but after that it is substancially easier to get accepted.
